Job description:

We are seeking a highly professional and results-driven commercial and business development lead
for the Southern African region, responsible for driving revenue growth, strategic client acquisition,
and long-term relationship development.
This is a commercial leadership role, combining business development (“hunting”) and existing
account development (“farming”) responsibilities. The Regional Director will build and deepen
relationships with banks, fintechs, regulators, and industry partners across the region, positioning
enza as the partner of choice for modern payments solutions that empower banks and fintechs to
digitise, scale, and innovate across Africa’s financial ecosystem.
The ideal candidate has an existing personal network in the financial services and fintech
ecosystem, a track record of closing complex enterprise-scale technology deals, and the credibility
to engage at C-suite level.

Key responsibilities:

– Business Development (“Hunting”)
▪ Identify, qualify, and close new commercial opportunities with banks, fintechs, and
financial institutions
▪ Develop regional go-to-market plans aligned with enza’s strategic growth priorities
▪ Lead end-to-end sales cycles for complex, multi-year deals, from lead generation through
to commercial negotiation and contract closure
▪ Build strong visibility for enza within key markets through proactive engagement,
thought leadership, and participation in regional industry events

– Client Relationship Management (“Farming”)
▪ Build and sustain trusted relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers
▪ Deepen engagement with existing clients to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
▪ Ensure client satisfaction through proactive engagement and collaboration with delivery
teams

– Market Intelligence and Feedback Loop
▪ Act as the voice of the Southern African market within enza by capturing and articulating
client needs, regulatory changes, and competitive trends
▪ Provide structured feedback to internal Product, Partnerships, and Strategy teams to
shape solution development and roadmap priorities
▪ Identify emerging technologies, local integrations, and partnership opportunities to
enhance enza’s regional offerings

– Ecosystem and Stakeholder Engagement
▪ Cultivate strong relationships with regulators, schemes, PSPs, and other ecosystem
partners
▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align market opportunities with Enza’s
broader commercial strategy

-Commercial Leadership
▪ Cultivate strong relationships with regulators, schemes, partners, and other ecosystem
players
▪ Manage pipeline forecasting, reporting, and regional sales targets
▪ Ensure disciplined CRM usage and data-driven account management
▪ Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting for the Southern African region and
alignment with enza’s broader commercial strategy

Qualifications:

– 10+ years’ experience in enterprise or B2B sales within payments, fintech, or banking,
ideally covering multiple Southern African markets

– Proven track record of closing high-value, multi-stakeholder deals in complex
environments

– Strong network across the payments and financial services ecosystem, including C-level
and regulatory relationships

– Deep understanding of core payments systems, acquiring, issuing, switching, APM’s

– Ability to translate technical propositions into compelling commercial value for clients

– Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills, with gravitas to
operate at executive level

– Self-starter, results-oriented, and entrepreneurial individual who is comfortable
operating in a fast-growing, scaling fintech environment

– Willingness to travel extensively across the region
